VIRTUAL REALITY

Luscious utilise virtual reality to push the boundaries of how we tell stories and communicate with the world

INDEPENDENT PET PARTNERS - 6 Dof

Working from a 2D CAD floor plan we created a fully textured 3D CGI realistic store including realising an new and as yet unseen colour scheme, graphic, logo and branding plan as provided by the client. Referencing sourced photographs taken inside an existing pre-new branding store, Luscious Pictures created 3D CGI stock which was then installed onto the shelves inside the virtual store. Staff working in a pre-new branding store in Boston USA were filmed using a local crew who were briefed then guided through the process by Richard over a remote video link. Luscious also created and composited photo-realistic digital matte paintings both inside and outside the virtual store to complete the virtual reality experience.

ANMM - VR CONCEPT DESIGN

To enable a more interactive and intuitive design process for the stake holders working on the Australian National MaritimeMuseum JAMES CAMERON - CHALLENGING THE DEEP experience, Luscious translated the architectural plans, objects, display cases, projection screens, interactive screens, display monitors and general fittings into a architecturally accurate virtual reality version of the exhibition. Lighting and spatial sound were added to ensure a near-to-life interpretation and experience for users. This initiative proved to be a powerful tool in terms of refining the design concepts prior to construction beginning and all stake holders quickly reaching agreement which ensured no revisions during the construction process and a more successful installation upon completion.

VIRTUAL EQUALITY - 360 VR experience

Luscious filmed a same-sex wedding in Auckland using 360 VR. The multi-scene footage was stitched in a format ready to view via multiple VR headsets sourced by Luscious in Sydney. A “virtual” wedding was organised and promoted in Sydney with guests invited so they could experience the wedding in VR at a Sydney location. The wedding in Auckland and the virtual wedding in Sydney were filmed and the footage was edited to produce a campaign which was then used on social media to draw attention to the Marriage Equality referendum. The Cannes silver lion and Spikes Asia award-winning virtual reality campaign delivered the powerful message: "Australia, it’s time to make marriage equality a reality.” which became a rallying cry of the “yes” campaign.

ANMM - KRAIT TOUR

We produced a Krait 360° VR experience to support the Operation Jaywick - Dark Victory film which screens at the Australian National Maritime Museum and the National Museum of Singapore. The seven-minute guided 360° VR tour affords viewers an opportunity to explore the boat while it sails around Sydney Harbour. The experience is installed in Oculus Go headsets custom programmed to kiosk mode with gaze based controls to ensure an easy to use experience. This includes having the film momentarily pause if the user takes the headset off and gaze selected options to restart or continue when the headset is put back on.
